OF DISTANT LAND is a melancholy arrangement of an original melody commencing with a soprano sax solo followed by the euphonium with the same melody leading up to a sensitive beginning of the tune 'Eventide' more commonly known as 'Abide with me' followed by a strong affirmation of a line in the last verse of 'Abide with me' which states 'Heaven’s morning breaks, and earth's vain shadows flee' indicating a better Distant Land. The piece finishes quietly with a reference to 'Eventide' by the euphoniums.
