The first notes emerge delicately, like a whisper announcing the imminent awakening. The melody builds in intensity, reflecting the growing pressure. The low mid-range section and percussion create a musical tension that culminates in an orchestral explosion.
The percussion and brass illustrate the spectacular eruption of Mount Etna, the notes resonating like musical projectiles. In the midst of this tumult, gentler sections express the beauty of flowing lava in the midst of chaos.
The piece reaches its climax, describing the completion of a cycle. The last notes fade away, leaving an atmosphere charged with emotion and fascination for Etna.
