The piece is commissioned by Lindy Karreman, the Fanfare 'Korps Nationale Reserve' and conductor Alfred Willering.
It is in three movements:
Part 1 - Havana 1898: The Captain 's smoking cigars and drinking rum, coke and lime in a downtown bar
Part 2 - 'Santería': Worshipping the Orisha and getting in trance
Part 3 - 'Cuba Libre' The salsa of freedom
